A glowing lantern rising above the surrounding landscape, Playa Vista Park’s bandshell, for which Wil Carson was the Project Designer and Hiroshi Tokumaru the Senior Technical Coordinator at Michael Maltzan Architecture, creates an innovative, dynamic icon for performance and gathering at the park’s heart. The project, which incorporates a large stage for performance and back of house spaces beneath, is a key catalyst in the continuing transformation of Playa Vista into one of the city’s key creative hubs.
