“The design is in the expressive, modernist tradition, without shouting or proclaiming itself too loudly. With its slanting walls and oblique geometry, it reminds me in certain ways of Rudolph Schindler’s nearby Kallis house. It is quieter than John Lautner’s works in the same neighborhood but like them it is a sophisticated statement, an appropriate contribution to the area’s landscape and architectural traditions.”
